    Paul Goodloe McIntire was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on May 28, 1860.

    In 1880, Mr. McIntire moved to Chicago, Illinois to work as a coffee salesman with his brother-in-law, Samuel Baker.

    Mr. McIntire's generosity led to the creation of several academic departments at the University of Virginia.

  • 05.  Gifts to His Hometown

    Mr. McIntire's generosity extended beyond the boundaries of the Grounds at the University of Virginia and effectively shaped the cultural and physical landscape of his birthplace, Charlottesville, Virginia.
