1st Quarterly Meeting, 2010

The first quarterly membership meeting of the Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society for 2010 will be held on Sunday, April 11, at 2pm in the Jefferson Theater.

For more that three years the iconic Downtown Mall theater underwent an extensive renovation to return the building back to its original purpose as a venue for live performances. Kirby Hutto, who oversaw the renovation work and is the venue Manager of the Jefferson Theater, and long-time owner and Society member Hawes Spencer, will present both a history and a tour of the 1912 facility.

Following the program, Society members are invited to adjourn to the McIntire Building, home of the Society, for refreshments and a chance to view newest exhibit, Charlottesville Broadcasting in the Golden Age of Radio, on early radio in the Albemarle and Charlottesville community.
